Contract Administration is the role fulfilled by a construction professional to specify, tender and oversee construction work on behalf of the Employer. They will normally be responsible for drafting a formal building contract and issuing relevant notices/documentation as required by the contract. Typically, if a Design and Build contract is chosen, the role is renamed as ‘Employer’s Agent’, although many of the processes in practice are very similar.
This role is important as it means that the client has experienced, professional representation who can guide them through the intricacies of the construction process, and help to explain technical detail.
