Harrison Clarke are a niche building consultancy with an entrepreneurial streak. Set up in 2017, we offer high quality building advice to local property investors and tenants.

To meet growing demand, we’re now looking for a Chartered Building Surveyor who wants to be, and feel, integral to the success of our business. We are a close, loyal and hardworking team and this is reflected in our reward and recognition approach.

From day one you’ll be provided with the autonomy to define your future career path, influencing the types of instructions accepted and working in a way that suits you. More importantly, you’ll be provided with all the support needed to develop your skillset in whatever direction you choose.

Applications are welcomed and encouraged from individuals that are recently chartered, through to director level surveyors, with appropriate remuneration packages available to suit.

You’re the kind of individual we’d like to work with if you’re:

  • naturally curious and able to see instructions in a wider commercial context
  • a self-starter with a desire to make your clients’ lives as easy as possible
  • great at stakeholder management with the ability to interpret client briefs effectively
  • adaptable, take pride in your work and have a collaborative mindset

If you tick each of these boxes, we’d love to hear from you!

Once onboard you’ll focus on inspecting and reporting on a range of properties from one-bedroom flats to multi-million-pound commercial buildings, the majority of which will be based around the South Hampshire region.

However, as part of this varied role there will also be opportunities to further develop your experience of dealing with building surveys, party wall matters and dilapidations, amongst other service lines. In short if you’re a professional, dynamic Chartered Building Surveyor we invite you to apply.

Skills & Experience

  • AssocRICS qualified surveyor as a minimum, though we would also love to speak with MRICS or FRICS qualified surveyors.
  • Attention to detail is a must, identifying issues and defects, as well as providing well considered and appropriate advice on remedial work.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Hardworking and driven with a positive work ethic.
  • Ability to independently manage and organise your own workload.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence with access to personal transport.
  • Recent experience in undertaking all listed service lines – desirable

When not inspecting properties, your time can be split between our Southampton based office and working from home. We’re all about finding a sustainable balance that allows you to thrive. Other benefits of working with us include:

  • Fully negotiable salary with clear, reasonable targets and defined bonus structure.
  • Generous holiday allowance.
  • Friendly and entrepreneurial working environment.
  • A mobile phone, iPad (if required) and laptop to ensure you have the best technology to help you carry out your role.
  • Further on-going training and support.
  • A dog friendly office, suitable for low-allergenic dogs.
  • Optional health insurance
